Free Crochet Pattern - Distinctive Filet Crochet Border!
This is a border pattern I designed, primarily to give a nice finishing touch to my filet crochet doilies. To get an idea of what the border looks like on a finished project:
Directions:
Round 1: in 1st open mesh: 4 dc,
next open mesh 1 sc around. Each corner
mesh: 9 dc in each corner mesh). Join with
sl st.
Round 2: ch1, * sc in sc, ch 6, sc
in sc around, join with sl st. For each
corner: sc in 5th dc.
Round 3: ch 3 (count as 1st dc),
* 6 dc in ch 6 space, ch 3, sc, ch 3 in
next ch 6 space, repeat from * around, join
with sl st. For each corner: 6 dc in 6ch
space , ch3, sc in sc, ch3, 6dc in ch6 space.
You will have to "adjust" the
outcome as you crochet the border. What
I mean by "adjust": depending
on the amount of filet squares, you might
have to use the same technique used for
the corner in order to make an even layout.
Round 4: ch 3 (count as 1st dc),
1 dc, * ch 3, make 2 dc cluster, ch 3 ,
make 2 dc cluster, ch 3, sc in sc, ch 3,
make 2 dc cluster, repeat from * around,
join with sl st. For corner use ch4 instead
of ch3.
Round 5: sl st to next space, ch
4, sc in ch space around. Break off.
