Free Crochet Pattern - Halloween Spiral Spider Web - Simple and Elegant!

This is a very simple yet elegant pattern. I designed this spider web pattern and added an appliqué little ghost... perfect combination for your Halloween décor!
Approx size: 11", using thread #10, color of your choice, hook #7.
Special Notes:
V Stitch 7(V-st) - (tr, ch 3) 2 times
in st indicated
tr - treble - Yo hook twice, insert
hook in st, yo, draw lp through, [yo,
draw through 2 lps on hook] 3 times.
beg of each round: ch 7(counts as
1st tr and 3 ch)
Halloween Spiral Spider Web
Begin with ch 6, sl st in first ch
to form ring.
Rnd 1: ch 7, (tr, ch 3) 7 times
into ring, join with sl st to 3rd
ch 7 of beg ch 7. (8 tr and 8 ch 3
sps)
Rnd 2: ch 7, (tr, ch 3) in
same place as joining, V-st in each
tr around, join. (8 V-sts)
Rnd 3: ch 7, V-st in next tr,
*(tr, ch 3) in next tr, V-st in next
tr*, repeat from * to * around, join.
Rnd 4: ch 7, (tr, ch 3) in
next tr, V-st in next tr, *(tr, ch
3) in each of next 2 tr, V-st in next
tr*, repeat from * to * around, join.
Rnds 5 - 14: ch 7, *(tr, ch
3) in each tr to next V-st, (tr, ch
3) in first tr of V-st, V-st in next
tr*, repeat from * to * around, join.
Fasten off.
Rnd 15: With orange, ch 1,
sc in same space, in each ch 3 space:
*sc, 2 dc, sc around* repeat from
* to * around join with sl st to first
sc. Fasten Off. Weave in ends.
Variations: You
can use tr & 2 ch, dc & 1
ch for the spiral spider web. The
edging can also be modified to your
liking.
Lightly iron doily, stretching it
into place to form the spider web.
Halloween Ghost
Body - with White thread
Rnd 1: Ch4, dc in 4th ch from hook, 13dc in same ch, join w/sl st (15dc total)
Row 2: Ch 1, sc in nx 5 st, ch 1, turn (5sc total)
Row 3: Sk 1st st, sc in nx 4 st, ch 1, turn (4sc total)
Row 4: Sk 1st st, sc in nx 3 st, ch 1, turn (3sc total)
Row 5: Sk 1st st, sc in nx 2 st, ch 1, turn (2sc total)
Row 6: Sk 1st st, sc in last st. Do not turn work.
Tail - Row 7: Ch 20, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in ea ch across (=19sc). Sl st in base of body, (continuing up side of ghost; ch 1, 4 sc evenly up to 1st row (row 2), ch 5, sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in nx 3 ch, (arm), sc in 1st dc of 1st round (round 1); (around head) sc in nx 12c, hdc in nx 2 dc, 3 hdc in nx dc, hdc in nx 2dc, sc in nx 3 dc; ch 5, sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in nx 3 ch, (opposite arm), sc in 1st row of body (row 2); 4sc evenly down side, sl st to base of tail. Fasten off, secure ends. Stitch little black eyes or sew on little black beads for the eyes.
Pumpkin for Halloween Ghost
Row 1: With Orange, Ch 6, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each rem ch. Ch 1, turn.
Row 2: 2 Sc in same st as beg ch 1. Sc in each of next 3 sc. 2 sc in last sc. Ch 1, turn.
Row 3: Sc in each sc. Ch 1,turn.
Row 4: 2 sc in same st as beg ch 1. Sc in ea sc across to last st. 2 sc in last st. Ch 1, turn.
Row 5: Sc dec over 1st 2 sts. Sc in each sc across to last 2 sts. Sc dec over last 2 sts. Ch1, turn.
Row 6: Sc in each st. Ch 1, turn.
Row 7: Sc dec over 1st 2 sts. Sc in each sc across to last 2 sts. Sc dec over last 2 sts. Ch1, do not turn.
Edge: Sc evenly around entire piece.
Fasten Off.
